Vanitha Mythri Public Welfare Society (VMPWS) formed in 2010 mobilises and organises rural communities for the welfare of the society. The community organisation (CO) works with female sex workers in six blocks of Karimnagar district, in Telengana State in India. Home, street and brothel based sex workers constitute its 919 strong member network.

Registered in 2010 under the Andhra Pradesh Societies Registration Act 2001, Vanitha works to resist gender discrimination, prevent sexual exploitation and strengthen the position of poor men and women. "


VMPWS aims to serve and offer the necessary services to socially and economically backward communities.

Services Provided

Vanitha provides various services to support the members to lead a healthy and violence free life.
  • Organising campaigns to eradicate illiteracy
  • Imparting civic and public health education through library and cultural activities
  • Mobilising women in self help groups engaged in savings activities
  • Implement income generation programmes
  • Ensure social protection of its members
  • Provide HIV prevention services and improve health seeking behaviour of members

VMPWS envisions establishing a healthy society, where all members can contribute equally to its development.
