"Spandana Sri Mythri Sri Public Welfare Society (SSMSPWS) is a community organisation (CO) in Karimnagar district in Telengana State in India. It works to mobilise and organise rural community and youth to channelise their energies for the welfare of the society. SSMSPWS was formed in 2009 to serve marginalised communities with a focus on education, health and prevention of violence activities.
Registered in 2010 under the Andhra Pradesh Societies Registration Act 2001, SSMSPWS has 877 female sex workers as members.
"SSMSPWS aims to serve socially and backward communities, oppose gender discrimination, prevent sexual exploitation and strengthen the position of poor men and women.
Spandana provides a host of services to cater to its mobilised community based groups of women in sex work.
SSMSPWS advocates with the government and partners with government and non-governmental organisations to sustain its HIV prevention services, prevent violence against sex workers and ensure access to government schemes for all its members.
