Theni Maavatta Pengal Samuga Porulathara Munnetra Sangam (TMPSPMS) is a community organisation of female sex workers in Theni district of Tamil Nadu State in India. Supporting 1160 members, TMPSPMS focuses on empowering women economically and socially.

Founded in 2012, the CO is registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975.


TMPSPMS aims to address the developmental needs of its members through livelihood and civic initiatives, and create a distinct identity as a community institution that is owned, managed and run by the community.

Services Provided

TMPSPMS offers a range of services to enable socioeconomic well being and good health of its members.

  • Ensuring community's access to various government schemes and entitlements
  • Building financial security by facilitating bank linkages, and access to insurance and pension schemes
  • Implementing HIV prevention and care services including positive prevention, ART linkages, regular health check up
  • Organising skill training and building capacities for livelihood promotion
  • Conducting legal aid training and providing counseling services for transgender persons, adolescent girls and boys in distress at the village and block levels
  • Providing health and educational assistance to its members

TMPSPMS envisions empowering marginalised women in the district through holistic development intervention programmes.
