Community Learning Centre (CLC) is a collective of women in sex work in Pune district of Maharashtra State in India.The community organisation was founded in 2012.

CLC is registered under the Bombay Public Trusts Act,1950. It has 2011 female sex workers as members.


CLC aims to provide an enabling environment for female sex workers to lead a risk free life, work on reducing social stigma against them, and empower them to fight violence.

Services Provided

Working to help the female sex workers to lead lives without socioeconomic and health vulnerabilities, CLC provides a host of services to its members.

  • Facilitating access to government welfare schemes for 560 members and their families
  • Promoting access to savings, credit and insurance by mobilising women into microfinance self help groups 700 accounts opened in nationalised banks to promote savings
  • Training in different skills to support alternate livelihoods
  • Conducting legal aid training and providing counselling services to better deal with distress
  • Implementing HIV prevention programmes along with care and support services
  • Building financial literacy to increase member awareneess on prudent use of money.
  • 320 members received support to address crisis.

CLC envisions working towards better lives for female sex workers. envision to reduce violence and harrasement by police by having better coping mechanism and linkage services.
